Veterans Day Tribute

Honoring our Heroes ...

Now is your chance to share your Veterans Day tribute with the world. We want to hear about your experiences. This is a great way to pay tribute to your favorite soldier.

Veteran's day is observed in the United States on November 11th, but anytime is a good time to pay tribute to our military and service members for all of their sacrifices that they have given for this country.

I have such admiration and appreciation for the military and their families after working as a therapist for the military for many years. I know of the sacrifices that the service members and their families make for our freedom. Words cannot express my gratitude to our vets and active duty military.

No… Freedom Isn’t Free.

Share Your Tribute...

Here is your opportunity to:

  • Pay tribute to a commrade who risked their life for you.
  • Brag about your vet's heroism and sacrifices for his/her country.
  • Express your appreciation to your commander for his/her guidance.

This tribute is to my father. I am not posting his name or picture to respect his privacy. My father never talked about the war, other than to say …

Video Tribute to Veterans

This video is from an "old soldier" who never wants us to forget "everything we do, we do for you…"

Theme song to the video is "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" by Songwriters: Michael Kamen; Bryan Adams; R.J. 'Mutt' Lange.

Freedom Isn't Free

I've included a beautiful video paying tribute to the military with the "Freedom Isn't Free" poem being read.

Very touching! Feel free to share with any servicemember or veteran.

"Freedom Isn't Free" Poem

I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze
A young soldier saluted it, and then
He stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many Pilots' planes shot down?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No Freedom isn't free

I heard the sound of taps one night,
When everything was still.
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That taps had meant "Amen"
When a flag had draped a coffin
of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard at the
bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.....
No -- Freedom isn't free!!

Hero's Poem

By Jared Jenkins

In war, there are lives risked and lives taken
Men and women giving their best to defend what they love
They defend their country
Their honor
Their people
Some call them soldiers
Others call them heroes
Our veterans have risked their lives for us
They have lived through hell and fought with honor
Many have killed
And regret doing so
For every life, there is a soul
For every soul, there is a life
For those who have died, we show great appreciation and remembrance
For those who live, along with them live the horrific memories of battle
Some, memories of defeat
Some, memories of victory
Our veterans were more than soldiers
They were, and still are heroes
